Art Marson from La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 91st International Convention, held in Bangkok, Thailand, June 23-27, 2008.

Director Marson is a college administrator in grants, development and auxiliary services.

A member of the La Crosse Lions Club and a Lion since 1977, Director Marson has held many offices within the association, including club president, district governor, zone chairperson, region chairperson and council chairperson. In addition, he served as convention chairperson, membership chairperson and multiple district campus club chairperson. In the past, he was also president of the Pin Traders Club of Wisconsin and director of the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin.

In recognition of his service to the association, Director Marson has received numerous awards, including the 100% Club President's Award, his district's Honored President Award, the International President's Award, the International Leadership Award, an Extension Award, two International President's Certificates of Appreciation and the Senior Builder Key Award. He also has 30 years perfect attendance and is a Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lions activities, Director Marson is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is the chairperson of the City of La Crosse International Relations Committee, treasurer of the La Crosse-Dubna (Russia) Friendship Association and director of the La Crosse-Luoyang (China) Friendship Association. He is also a member of the Fulbright Association, Chamber of Commerce, Royal Order of Moose and the Association of Career and Technical Education.

Director Marson and his wife, Jo Ann, also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have two children.
