Improving Lives Through Service
Whether Lions are providing vision services, assisting victims of disasters, caring for our environment or serving others in unique ways, we are improving the lives of people worldwide. Since 1917, local Lions clubs have met humanitarian needs in every corner of the world. And today, more than ever, people depend on our services and new challenges await us.

Charter a New Club!
Building a new club in your community will not only benefit those you serve, but it will benefit your club members as well - by offering them the opportunity to make a real difference and instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment. For more information about starting your own Lions club, e-mail the New Clubs and Marketing Department at newclubs@lionsclubs.org for guidance, support and assistance.

Various Club Formats
While traditional communities may top the list of locations for Lions clubs, think beyond municipalities to form a special interest club (educators, medical groups), project-based club (environmental, cultural), ethnic or community-based club, business leaders club (networking-based), or a club for young professionals or campus students. Below are several types of club formats:

Traditional Lions Club Kit  (KITEXT)
This is an ideal format to bring together a group of community-minded people to serve the humanitarian, environmental or cultural needs of their community. The club can be formed in any area in need of services.

New Century Lions Club Kit (KITNC)
This club format is designed for young adults the age of majority through age 35 at time of club formation. It offers a flexible environment. Members agree to meet and volunteer as their busy lifestyles permit and utilize modern technology for communication and club administrative functions.

Campus Lions Club Kit (KITCC)
This club format is designed for college and university students, administrators, faculty, alumni or other community-minded individuals. It allows students to serve the campus community with their peers while developing valuable leadership and business skills.

Club Branch Kit (KITBR)
A Club Branch consists of a small group of members, and it can flourish where chartered clubs are not established: small towns, remote rural areas, ethnic neighborhoods, business parks or medical complexes. Members are Lions of a parent club, but select their own projects and activities.

If you would like to receive any of the above kits, please e-mail your request to New Clubs and Marketing Department. Be sure to include your name, mailing address and phone number.

Other Programs

Cyber Lions Clubs
A Cyber Lions club is a Lions club that meets primarily via the Internet and conducts business online. Carrying out business online helps keep Lions connected, expedites club administration and can help a club get to the business of serving their communities quicker. A Lions club that meets solely via the Internet and conducts business online can be chartered just like a traditional club. Download Net Savvy, a Guide for Lions in the Digital Age (English only) for more information about Cyber Lions clubs and how Lions clubs can utilize the Internet.

Leo Lions Clubs
Leo Lions clubs are designed to provide a transition for graduating Leos to build upon the skills they learned as a Leo, and apply these skills as a Lion. Qualifying Leos and the young adults they recruit receive a special dues discount. Graduating Leos may also receive Lions credit for their Leo years of service.

Lioness Lions Club Program
This club format consists of former Lionesses and other community-minded adults who want to join a Lions club and enjoy all the benefits of Lions membership. Lionesses may receive Lions credit for their Lioness years of service.

Certified Guiding Lions
These enthusiastic Lions are motivators, team builders, advisors, communicators and listeners. They are selected by the distric governor and committed to guiding and supporting a new club through its first two years. Any active Lion may take the Certified Guiding Lion course to become a Certified Guiding Lion.
