In October 1996, the International Board of Directors approved a special certificate that can be given to any Leo in good standing, who terminates membership in a Leo club, for any reason, after October 13, 1996.
The purpose of the certificate is to recognize a Leo's service to the Leo club and community. A Leo who terminated membership prior to October 13, 1996 is not eligible to receive the certificate.
In addition to recognizing a Leo's service, this certificate may be used at any time in the future to waive the US$25 international entrance fee, should the former Leo be invited to join and accepts membership in a Lions club.
A copy of the Leo Club Completion of Service Certificate must accompany the Membership and Activities Report (M&A) submitted when the former Leo is reported as a new Lions club member.
The entrance waiver fee affects only the international entrance fee. Other international, club, district or multiple district fees/dues continue to apply.
The certificate may be requested by a sponsor Lions club president, secretary, or the Leo club advisor. There is no charge for the certificate. The request should be directed to the Youth Programs Department.
