Fiscal Responsibility
In 2007 LCIF was named the number one non-governmental organization (NGO) worldwide. After an independent review of 100 international organizations, the list was narrowed to 34 organizations. A total of 445 worldwide companies and organizations scored the NGOs, and LCIF came in first for its accountability, program execution, communications, program adaptability and partnerships.
An updated review on Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator, in September 2009 awarded LCIF four stars, the highest ranking a charity is able to receive. More than 5,400 of America’s largest charities are ranked on the Web site, where LCIF received higher rankings than both the Red Cross and Feeding America. The four star ranking demonstrates LCIF’s commitment to using funds as effective and efficiently as possible, while remaining committed to serving those in need.
Donors can rest assured that every cent of every dollar is committed to humanitarian projects. Administrative costs are paid by interest earned on long-term investments. 100% of every donation has a direct impact in the lives of people around the world.
The LCIF Board of Trustees review projects before funding is awarded. Monitoring and evaluation is done by technical advisors, external evaluators and LCIF staff.
