Eyeglasses at the center are processed with the help of students from the Katzenbach School for the Deaf and the Special Service School for the Mercer County Community. Prisoners from two local institutions are also utilized for eyeglasses processing. The center continually sponsors missions to Mexico and the Dominican Republic, organizing participation from optometrists and other medical professionals. The center has also coordinated equipment loans between other Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers and mission groups.
In 2000, at their state convention, Lions Multiple District 16 gave approval for the center to be a state project of New Jersey.
