Lions Clubs Photo of the Week: Lions Tent Cities Give Haitians Home, Hope

When disaster strikes, Lions pitch in with resources wherever we are needed in the world. Lions Clubs International Foundation Chairperson Al Brandel sent in this week’s photo from Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Lions Clubs Tent City in Haiti

Al took this photo during a tour of three tent cities that Lions have established in the Port-au-Prince neighborhoods of Delmas, Blanchard and Carrefour-Feuille. “It is a sea of blue tents with the Lions logo prominently displayed,” said Al. “I am proud to be a Lion.”

Your work worldwide is to be admired. My parents have been Lions members (ex-presidents/secretary) in Blacktown, Australia for many years and through their work with Lions i have volunteered with them. I am now an active volunteer and human rights activist, without the wonderful experience and morals instilled in me by both my parents and other Lions Club members, i would not be the person i am today. Lions Club International, thank you for helping the less fortunate people of the world.
