Lions Club Story of the Week: Lions Give Children the Gift of Hearing
Lions are known as “knights of the blind” for our programs that focus on serving the blind or visually impaired. But our members also take part in other types of health projects.
The Hearing Lions Club recently went on mission to Mexico. During this mission, Lions Club members, hearing specialists and volunteers provided hearing aids for more than 200 children.

Some of the children traveled more than five hours to receive the gift of hearing.

Several children had no ability to hear or speak when they arrived. After receiving hearing aids, they were delighted to hear voices – and spoke their first words, including “mama” and “papa.”
