Taiwanese Girl Receives Lions International Peace Poster Contest Grand Prize in Vienna
Our annual Peace Poster Contest gives young people a chance to express their vision of peace. This year, 13-year-old Yu-Min Chen received the grand prize during Lions Day with the United Nations in Vienna, Austria. Yu-Min said, “I hope all the people who see my drawing can get more commitment and agreement to have peace in their hearts … so we will have a peaceful world in the near future.”

Yu-Min’s speech was well-received by the event’s attendees, who swarmed the stage to applaud and take photos of the young artist, her poster and International President Eberhard J. Wirfs. Watch video of Yu-Min at the UN on YouTube.
Yu-Min’s family – including her parents, older sister and twin sister (also a participant in the contest) – and the president of the Taichung Kuang Hua Lions Club that sponsored the contest in her area, traveled to Vienna for the event. Watch video of Yu-Min and her family in Taiwan on YouTube.
