Lions Story of the Week: Janesville Noon Lions Club Cleans Up for Earth Day
Last week marked the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. We went out to Janesville, Wisconsin, to join Lions there as they cleaned up a local park.
Watch Lions and Leos clean up on Earth Day.
We watched Lions, Leos and their families join together to spread mulch, plant new shrubs, weed garden beds, fertilize plants and trim trees. This was part of a two-phase spring cleaning of the park, which left it ready for visitors throughout the season.
Wisconsin was the birth place of Earth Day. Members of the Janesville Noon Lions Club said that environmental projects are an important community service that brings Lions and their neighbors together for a common cause.
What is your club doing to help the environment? Let us know in the comment section.
