Story of the Week: Lions in Norway Go Green to Keep Olso Clean
Around the world, our members work on projects to improve local communities and protect the environment. We received this week’s story from Tom Thoresen, an Activity Coordinator in District 104H in Norway. During the last nine years, Lions in Norway have partnered with the municipality of Oslo to conduct an environmental project called “Lions Rusken.”

The goal of this community clean-up project – which is sponsored by McDonald’s restaurants – is to clean up litter in each Lions District in Oslo. More than 300 Lions members take part in Lions Rusken each year.

On Monday, May 17, 2010 – which is Norwegian National Day – Lions Clubs in Norway will clean all of the streets and fields in Oslo.
