Lions Club Story of the Week: Yateley May Fayre Raises Funds, Provides Family Fun

From pancake breakfasts and fish fry dinners to fairs and festivals, Lions clubs sponsor community events that raise funds to help others. This week, we want to share a story about a beloved annual event sponsored by the Lions Club of Yateley and District.

On May 3, 2010, the Lions’ Yateley May Fayre celebrated the Mayday bank holiday – and the arrival of warm weather – by providing a fun, family friendly day of entertainment. And gave local charities and volunteer organizations a chance to promote their cause.

The Fayre featured entertainment for the whole family, including a motorcycle stunt show.

Attendees also enjoyed the World Eagle Claw Kung Fu Association’s Chinese Lion Dance Team.

The event helped raise thousands of pounds for local and national charities and volunteer organizations in the community.
