President’s Service Blog: World Sight Day

As we wrap up this month’s Sharing the Vision Global Service Action Campaign, I want to share a video from my visit to Japan. I was happy to return to Osaka for Lions World Sight Day this month. I served in the Navy in Japan and visited Osaka for international convention, so I was excited to return as international president.

I am very proud of all the work Lions there are doing to aid the visually impaired. Judy and I visited the Nippon Lighthouse for the Blind, which provides training for the blind and visually impaired. During our visit, we had a chance to try blind table tennis, which employs the assistance of sighted people – Judy was a natural at the game! A US$10,000 seed grant was recently awarded to this impressive facility.

We also joined Lions at the Tennoji Zoo, where we dedicated a new exhibit and park adapted for the visually impaired. Judy and I had fun trying out the roaring Lion, which I’m sure will be an often-admired part of the exhibit.

    Spirit of LIONISM

Our Lions Club has been invited by the Additional Commissioner of Police Western Zone Mumbai (India) to teach Sujok therapy to all the Police Force. We are going to every Police Station in the area, for teaching and demonstration of treating them. All the police men feel grateful to the Lions Clubs for helping them to treat themselves.

We feel the President International should make this project a Universal Project and advise all the Lions Clubs all over the world to learn Sujok and help public. One can get rid of use of pain killers as far as possible. Improve eye sight. Improve hearing, Boost up energy, avoid surgery for heel pain and Nose polyp and so on. At least Lions can look after their families well and save them from side effects of medicines. For more details please visit our web site http://www.lionsclubsujok.in

    Respected President,
You will be happy to know that the Lions Club Mumbai Sujok (India) has been treating patients with eyesight problems with Sujok therapy. I myself am 78 years young and I have given up using spectacles. The treatment costs practically nothing and even children can practice it. Thousands of people have tried it out successfully. Pain problem diminishes in just few seconds. Our Lions Club’s services are in demand from the Indian Armed Forces, Police, National Cadet Corps, National Service scheme volunteers and general public. If you are interested we are prepared to demonstrate it anywhere. Our system of treatment is shown in videos on YouTube, Google videos and our website http://www.lionsclubsujok.in.
