President’s Service Blog: Special Olympics Torch Lighting, Costa Rica
Judy and I had the honor of attending the Special Olympics games in San Jose when we traveled to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Lions in Costa Rica. Helping an athlete light the torch was one of the most powerful moments of my presidency.
Surrounded by 850 athletes who are overcoming their disabilities to live the best lives possible, I was reminded that we all have the ability to motivate and influence others. With Champions Lions clubs forming to assist the efforts of the Special Olympics and our Opening Eyes partnership, we are empowering the disabled and improving lives.
