Story of the Week: Lions Quest Expands into Middle East

Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders. And as Lions, we seek ways to guide young people through adolescence. Whether it’s expressing their feelings through the Peace Poster Contest, networking at a Lions Youth Camp, flexing their leadership muscles as a Leo or learning life skills through Lions Quest, we work to give opportunities to young people throughout the world.

Already in 64 countries, the Lions Quest program will soon reach students in kindergarten through 12th grade in the Middle East. Lions Quest offers positive youth development and prevention curricula that unite the home, school and community to nurture character in children. Recently, 19 Lions leaders from Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Jordan and Lebanon participated in a Lions Quest training session and developed an action plan to implement the program in their homelands.

In this video taken by Lions Clubs International Foundation staff, you’ll see Lions participating in Lions Quest activities and talking about the importance of Lions Quest in their communities.

Working with young people is very important! My club has made youth education the main project of our Lion Year 2010-2011. We believe in the strength, in the potential of renewal and in love for peace. A child is like a little tree we can cultivate with attention and love. In my opinion, Lions Campaigns this year are connected in a unique way. :-)
