President’s Service Blog: Meeting the Pope, Vatican City

Judy and I have experienced so many highlights during our travels. Recently, we had the honor of meeting with Pope Benedict XVI while traveling in Italy.

I presented the pope with our Peace Poster Plaque, commemorating the beautiful image of peace created by 2009-2010 winner Yu-Min Chen. I humbly requested that the pope pray that the children of our world one day experience peace like that depicted by the young artist. We agreed that we were hopeful this goal could be achieved in our lifetimes. It was a touching experience that Judy and I will both cherish.
