Story of the Week: Chicago Lions Host Peace Poster Exhibit to Honor Young Artists
Our annual Peace Poster Contest is a great way for our clubs to reach out to their local communities. The contest gives children ages 11, 12 and 13 the chance to think about a peaceful world, and Lions the chance to influence tomorrow’s leaders.
In District 1-A, Lions hosted an exhibit at the Avram Eisen Gallery to honor the artists behind the posters that won at the club level. The exhibit also brought Lions together with the winners’ families. Gallery owner Avram Eisen, who volunteered as a judge at the international competition, also framed the winning poster from District 1-A that made it through to the international level.
In this video, you’ll see the winners’ families attending the gallery opening and their siblings drawing their own masterpieces.
