President’s Service Blog: Planting Trees, Hong Kong

Planting Trees, Hong KongWelcome to my blog. I’m excited to share with you my travels and experiences as international president. This year, I’ll be asking each of our 1.35 million Lions to Believe; believe we can improve our communities, believe we can nourish young people and believe that our combined efforts can make a huge global impact.

I’m also asking Lions around the world to help me plant one million trees this year. If we can accomplish this goal, it proves once again that we can accomplish anything.

In my own hometown of Hong Kong, I helped Lions plant trees. Trees improve the look of neighborhoods and help the environment by providing more oxygen and homes for animals. With your help, I believe we can change the landscape of our communities this year.

I invite you to visit our Web site to learn more about the million tree planting campaign – and how your club can get involved.

Thanks International President Tam for being a good role model. I pledge that as the president of my club, Accra Premier in Ghana, my members and I and our energetic Leos will surely plant the trees and give you a good feedback as to how many we were able to plant. Fellow Lions and Leos, let’s all help our president to achieve his goal and also make the world a better place to live in.

Planting trees is just safeguarding ourselves on this planet. In last
50 years, we the inhabitants of this earth have mercilessly destroyed
trees for our various selfish causes. I am extremely thankful to our
International President for motivating the whole world for planting trees.
