Right now, famine is threatening the lives of millions of people in the drought-stricken Horn of Africa. Our members are working to help the most vulnerable victims –
children in a large refugee camp in Northern Kenya and Dadaab. Lions are also partnering with the Red Cross and UNICEF to provide emergency food supplies.
LCIF has given the Lions of Kenya a US$15,000 grant to support famine relief. Lions in Kenya also collected US$10,000. And our members around the world are rallying to help. Lions in Sweden are donating US$77,000. A Lions club in Germany has pledged to collect US$7,100. And Lions from Ethiopia are taking part in the relief efforts.
We’ve also formed a Lions Relief Team to coordinate relief efforts in Kenya. And LCIF has set up a designated “Aid for Africa 2011″ fund. Learn more about our famine relief efforts – and how you can give hope to those who are suffering.
