President’s Service Blog: My Club, My Family
As Lions, we know the power of people working together toward a common goal. I believe that long-term success for our clubs depends on keeping our members involved, instilling pride and treating them like family.
When I joined the Mt. Cameron Lions Club in Hong Kong, the club embraced me and made me feel like part of their family. I was immediately given projects and responsibilities. Because of the welcoming attitude of my club, I learned what being a Lion is all about and I became a Lion for life.
My challenge to clubs this year is to make new member orientation a priority, not a chore. Create an atmosphere of member care and mutual respect. Treat all Lions members like family. Our philosophy should be “My club, My family.” Together, the Lions family can expand the “we” in “We Serve.”
