President’s Service Blog: First Official Headquarters Visit, Oak Brook, Illinois

First Day at the OfficeI believe Lions Clubs International is making more of a difference than any other service organization in the world. I believe in you, Lions of the world, who make up this network of caring, passionate individuals who exemplify the We Serve motto.

Behind our 1.35 million dedicated Lions volunteers, we have equally dedicated staff members who diligently help make our work possible. When I arrived for my first official visit as international president, the headquarters staff welcomed me warmly.

It was an honor to shake hands with each of the staff members who supports our clubs day after day. I believe that their work is vital to helping Lions fulfill our communities’ needs.

I am grateful to be part of the LCI staff; and a Lion within my own community. I feel very honored to be part of this world service “family,” which reminds me of a favorite saying about the aspen grove of trees. There is synergy in the aspen grove; the trees are connected by a system of roots. Each tree draws strength from the others. The grove is more than the sum of the individual parts: one plus one equals three or more. We are like a world family, having a wonderful ripple effect throughout the world. I believe!

    Dear President,
On this happy occasion of your First Official Headquarters Visit, Oak Brook, Illinois, I would like to share following views.
    I believe.
Lion friends have been doing wonderful service to the community.
Our ultimate goal, I guess, should be – ‘Our service to society should ignite many
a mind to fall in line with the Lions. The last question that every one of
us put to one’s self /conscience each and every day, before slipping
into a well earned sleep should be – What is the good I did to my fellow human beings today?

Maintain nobility – keep up ability.
