President’s Service Blog: Meeting with Leos, Australia

Pres Tam presents Leo of Year to Tom PorterToday’s Leos are tomorrow’s Lions and form a vital branch of our family tree. As your president, I want to engage with Leos in order to gain their perspective, solicit their ideas and better understand their needs.

As part of this goal, I recently met with Leos when I traveled to Australia. I had the pleasure of presenting Tom Porter with his Leo of the Year Award. Tom is a great example of why Leos are so important to our future as Lions. He took advantage of our Leo to Lion Program and is now the membership chairperson of the Townsville Northern Suburbs Lions Club.

For many Lions, their first exposure to our organization was through a Leo club. Leos are a vital resource, bringing energy, enthusiasm and innovation to their clubs. I believe Lions can nurture Leos, furthering their leadership skills and commitment to community service.

Dear President, I’m very grateful for the attention being given to LEO. I consider it very important to raise awareness about the Lions of our movement in order to receive proper care, because as you said, “Today’s Leos are tomorrow’s Lions.”

I hope that the LEOs could spread further around the world, bringing the power of youth, that without a doubt is able to make big changes.

I believe we can achieve this, serving together, as one family!

Respected president, my highness you want to engage with Leos in order to gain their perspective, solicit their ideas and better understand their needs but please don’t forget Lionesses! I have learned in my 30 years in Lion member Lioness means Lion+ess who do E- extra, S-Social , S-Service. Becomes a Lioness. So last year to promote Lion-ism it comes in my mind to join lioness club so I joined a Charted club Chandigarh Panchkula Diamond 321A2. By joining Lioness club I am able to reach women cell easily and move really fast as they control family they are the one who can sow seeds of social service in them. All the information is on Facebook If you have time you will be able to see what really I want to do for Lionism. If you find it interesting and think it ‘s worth than please do let me know. I hope this is the first step any Lioness have taken in India by providing all the information on net. Guidance will be highly appreciated. Jai Hind Jai Lion ism.
