Photo of the Week: Lions in the Philippines Provide Disaster Relief for Typhoon Victims

After a natural disaster – such as an earthquake or typhoon – strikes, many of our members work on projects to provide relief to victims. We received this week’s photo via our Submit a Photo page.

Malolos Lions Club

When members of the Malolos Lions Club learned that typhoon victims in the Province of Bulcan needed food and water, they decided to help. This photo shows club members distributing clean water and more than 800 bags of relief goods to victims.

    • We’re happy to feature such a wonderful project on our blog … thanks for sending us the photos to let us know about it. 🙂

  3. I drew a poster and made it to regionals, hope to make it further. I did a whole bunch of research for the project in art, and in my spare time, and I was shocked that we got rewarded with money because I was doing it to fulfill and inspire others. So, I’m gonna donate some of the money to local charities. (:

    • Thanks for your comment and for letting us know about your plans to donate some of your Peace Poster prize money to help others. Good luck in the contest. 🙂

Our district governor Climaco Evagelista asked all his clubs in the Visaya 301-B2 district of the Philippines to donate peso 10.000.00 to this, just as we do in all typhoon events both local and international.

We even gave aid to brother and sister Lions in Japan during the earthquake they had earlier this year. Lions here in Philippines are pretty giving individuals. My club stays busy with about four civic projects a week. God Bless!

    • Thanks for letting us know what your district did to help these typhoon victims … and for all you’re doing to help others!

  5. I am proud to be a part of this club as secretary of Angeles City Centenial Lions Club, Philippines. Extending time, talent and treasure is a fulfilling one.

    • Thanks for letting us know you’re a Lions club member Jenny … and for all you do to help others. 🙂

  6. Such an inspiring gesture. Lions are hope to the poor and the whole world.

    • Thanks for your comment Jenny, we’re glad to share this inspiring story and photo.
