Photo of the Week: Illinois Lions Have an Eye for Helping with Eyeglass Recycling
Throughout the world, our clubs are working to improve lives through vision projects. Some clubs work with an eye bank or perform preschool vision screenings, while other clubs provide social activities for people who are blind. The South Elgin Lions Club in Illinois is just one of many clubs that collect and recycle eyeglasses. We found this week’s photo at The Courier-News.
The South Elgin Lions Club collects eyeglasses to send to humanitarian groups for distribution in South America. After volunteers sort the glasses, they are sent to a correctional facility in Indiana where inmates clean and categorize the glasses by prescription strength.
Donate your glasses today to make a difference in the life of a person in need.
