Photo of the Week: Louisiana Lions Hold a Race to Save Sight

Many of our clubs sponsor events in March for Eye Donor Awareness Month as part of our continued commitment to improve the lives of people with visual impairments. We found this week’s photo from the Shreveport and Bossier Lions Club at of the week march 5

The club held Stride for Sight, a 5K race and 1-mile fun run to benefit the Louisiana Lion’s Eye Bank. Located in Shreveport, the eye bank restores sight by collecting and distributing donor eye tissue. The club also collected used eyeglasses at the race.

It’s great and wonderful having such project of volunteerism in which the Lions raise money for sight projects, collect eyeglasses and execute a Sharing the Vision project.

      Hello Eleanore,
It’s a great project that not only raises funds, but also awareness. Thank you for your comment!
