President’s Service Blog: Planting Trees Together, Thailand

I am constantly inspired by the work you Lions and Leos do to improve your communities and the world. When I traveled to Thailand, I attended another tree planting that made me think about how we work together toward a common goal.

Tree planting in Thailand

I believe that no matter where you are in the world, whether you’re young or old, living in an urban or a rural area, you can plant or nurture  trees. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, this is the perfect time of year to grab a sapling and improve the landscape of our future or to care for the trees that you already planted. Last summer, I believed Lions and Leos together could plant one million trees around the world. To date, we’ve planted more than seven million trees. I believe that when we work together, we can deliver more than we ever expected.

  4. Trees are a great way to add value and beauty to your home. Trees serve a variety of purposes and can be tremendously beneficial. However, trees planted in the wrong manner, or in the wrong area, have the potential to do harm to your home, other structures, or people.

  5. In my responce recently, I have requested our International President Wing – Kun Tam to appreciate each member of our District 324C6, as an encouragement not only to our District 324C6 members, but also every Lion member.
I hope this time our International President acts now and encourage each one of us.

  6. We, the Lions of District 324C6, were planting the saplings every year regularly as an environmental project to protect the nature and improve the landscape of our community area. Also, as our International President’s dream project, We (4536 Lion Members of our District 324C6) with the encouragement of our District Governor Lion D. Pentaiah mjf and our Immediate Past Governor and Multiple Council Chairman Lion Dr. G. Babu Rao pmjf, planted more than 139,000 saplings this season. That means we could plant on an average of more than 30 sapplings per member from our District 324C6. Now it is the turn of our International President Wing – Kun Tam to appreciate each member of our District 324C6.
