Story of the Week: Lena Lions Club Maintains Highway Clean Up for 10 Years

Lions clubs around the world make a difference in their communities, investing in long-term projects to beautify and improve their towns. Lions are also committed to environmental projects, planting more than 13 million trees last year in addition to creating parks, cleaning up rivers and hosting recycling drives.

The Lena Lions Club in Illinois supports a long-term cleanup project in its community. For 10 years, Lions there have taken to the streets to clean up the area along U.S. Highway 20 four times per year. The club members collect large bags of trash, beautifying their town and improving the landscape for residents and tourists alike.
