New Video: Learn More About the Lions Essay Contest for the Visually Impaired
Our clubs have a long-standing history of providing services for the blind. One of our members helped establish white canes for the blind and many of our clubs fundraise on behalf of assistance dogs. We also have a deep commitment to helping young people grow into leaders and productive citizens. During August, we celebrate our Engaging Our Youth Global Service Action Campaign, which helps young people find ways to serve alongside Lions.
The Lions International Essay Contest combines these causes, providing a way for visually impaired young people to express their ideas about peace. In 2011-2012, children from around the world ages 11 through 13 with visual impairments submitted essays about the theme, “Children Know Peace.”
In this video, you can learn more about their thoughts on peace, as well as how your club can participate in this contest.
