Photo of the Week: Lions in India Celebrate the Life and Work of Mother Teresa

Lions love to celebrate the milestones and accomplishments of our communities, members and supporters. We recognize significant achievements in humanitarian work with our annual Humanitarian Award, the highest honor of our organization, which was bestowed upon Mother Teresa. We found this week’s photo at

The Shirva Manchakal Lions Club organized a Mother Teresa Day to mark what would have been her 102nd birthday. Speakers discussed her work to bring about peace and ease the suffering of poverty-stricken people. A skit performed by students from St. Mary’s PG. Centre (MSW), Shirva, incorporated the themes of equality and harmony.
