Behind the Scenes: Lions Prepare for White House Champions of Change Event
In Washington, D.C., 11 Lions from around the country are preparing to be honored as Champions of Change by the White House.
These Lions, who represent the vast array of community volunteer work our organization supports, will attend community leader briefings tomorrow and partake in a panel discussion at the invitation of the White House. The Champions of Change event brings together these honorees along with nearly 200 Lions from across the world to participate in a day focused on progress through service.
From youth development to international eye care missions, these Lions represent the projects and work of our 1.35 million global members. Through this event, we will have the chance to show the world what We Serve means to us, making every Lion a Champion of Change.
Tomorrow, watch this event live on the White House Web site. You can also follow the action live on Twitter using the hashtag #WHLions or see photos and updates on Facebook. We will feature full recaps on our Web site and this blog later in the week.
