Every year, a mass motorcycle rally is organized by the Newari community in Kathmandu, Nepal, to celebrate the Nepali New Year. The message of this year’s rally was to support the Nepal Lions’ measles campaign. All organizers and rally participants wore a Lions MR jacket with a Lions logo and the slogan, “No delay for taking MR vaccinations.”
After meeting the US$10 million goal in support of the One Shot, One Life: The Lions Measles Initiative, LCIF continues to work with the Gates Foundation in the fight against measles and the brain damage, hearing loss and blindness caused by the deadly disease.
