Leos Provide Disaster Relief
Posted by Lions Clubs International on Thursday, December 6, 2012 · 1 Comment

In November, the Yorktown Leo Club in New York traveled nearly 70 miles to reach out to Superstorm Sandy victims in Staten Island. More than 60 Leos and friends helped clean up an apartment complex that had been flooded by the storm. Many residents of the complex lost everything and were left without a home. Guiding Eyes for the Blind also helped by providing transportation for the Leos. The Leos’ volunteer work included emptying out the apartments and discarding household items that were soaked by the water. They also brought hot coffee, hot chocolate and hot soup for those still without power in their homes.
