From the Newtown Lions Club website:

The Newtown Lions Club has been shaken by the recent horrific events that have besieged our community. We ask that your thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families, our town and  country. We need to come together as a nation to address the deeper underlying societal challenges that affect us all.

The Newtown Lions want to help our community heal and is providing counseling services to the families and first responders of these horrific events through the support of the Connecticut Counseling Association.
Additionally our club is studying the potential of scholarships for the families of the victims, as well as many other considerations to benefit the community.
