Lions Club Mobile Kitchen
The Streetside Community Kitchen is a 26-foot trailer that contains a portable, fully equipped kitchen unveiled by the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club in late November. The mobile kitchen was first brought up in discussion between the Lions and the Corporation of Delta two years ago as a resource for emergency response. Now, the kitchen can run for 28 hours without refueling and includes such kitchen items as a grill, stove top, deep fryer and charbroiler – everything the Lions need to provide food to first responders and community members during an emergency.
This project shows Lions’ commitment to being prepared and providing assistance should the community ever need it. In times of disaster and emergency, a simple hot meal can make a world of difference in someone’s life.
