Fiji Lions Respond to Cyclone Evan
Last month, Tropical Cyclone Evan ripped through Fiji and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes. A total of 86 schools and nearly 6,000 homes were partially or completely destroyed by the cyclone. Lions in Fiji, using a US$10,000 grant from LCIF, provided disaster relief for the families in need. The Lions distributed food rations, water and tarpaulin sheets, and is currently working with Lions in New Zealand to raise funds for school-related expenses.
When disaster strikes, Lions are among the first to respond – providing the food, supplies and hope that people need to help rebuild their lives. How does your Lions club respond in the wake of disaster?
