Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the United States, and is one of the organizations that Lions Clubs International has partnered with as a part of the Reading Action Program.

The Sterling Lions Club in Colorado, USA recently organized a RIF program that provides books to children and parents of low-income families – many with single mothers who have limited English skills. The program, called Head Start, includes 83 children between the ages of 3 and 5. The Lions also plan to offer a class for parents on helping their kids with reading at home.

Learn more about RIF and how to get involved, and visit their blog for more stories.
