2013-14 Global Service Action Campaigns

Lions Clubs International

Another Lions year is upon us, and so Lions begin another year of Global Service Action campaigns. The first campaign kicks off in August and encourages Lions to involve young people in youth volunteer opportunities:

  • Engaging Our Youth (August) – By involving your community’s youth in Lions projects, you can teach valuable skills to future leaders. Team up with your local Leo club, or consider sponsoring a Leo club in your area.
  • Sharing the Vision (October) – With Lions World Sight Day on October 10, plan projects and activities that help the visually impaired. Project ideas include vision screenings, eyeglass recycling and eye health awareness events.
  • Relieving the Hunger (December/January) – During the holiday season, give the gift of food to those in need. Organize a soup kitchen, plan a food drive or distribute holiday food baskets to community members.
  • Protecting Our Environment (April) – Get your hands a little dirty to keep the earth beautiful and safe. Involve the entire community in projects such as tree plantings, park/beach clean-ups and recycling drives.
