Palmer’s Blog: Serving the Homeless
I was in Puerto Rico over the weekend, helping Lions with a service activity that provided food and clothes for homeless people in the area. That’s one of the many, many things I love about being a Lion — we are global and local . Not only are Lions reaching out to people in need in other parts of the world, from recycling eyeglasses that will eventually be given to someone across the globe to providing relief when disaster strikes in a completely different country, but we are also focusing on our neighbors. The people close to home who need our help.
That’s what the Puerto Rico Lions are doing by feeding and clothing the homeless people in their community. By making our local communities stronger, happier and healthier, we are truly making a great impact.
