  1. Diabetes Awareness and Action from Lion D Narsimha Raju mjf 316F

    As a District Secretary we are motivating Lions and friends in our community to reach them by bringing awareness on Diabetes. Many of the people are not aware Pre Diabetes. Recently we have printed Book lets on Diabetes Awareness and Facts, Measures, Food Habits, Nutrition, Meal Plan, Regular Excercise, etc., which covered in this book let. And We have created website and blogs, in social media like facebook by creating pages, Groups etc.,

    And recently we got tremendous response, as Apollo Group is one of the major MNC group in Hospitals and Pharmacy scattered around globe. They have came forward and asked us to be a partner with Lions Clubs for Diabetes Awareness Programs by conducting Diabetes Detection Camps and Awareness programs. They have asked not only our District 316F, they have asked total multiple 316. It covers 3 states in India. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and part of Karnataka.They are ready to reach each and every area in this multiple for bring awareness on Diabetes. Its one of the biggest achievement. We are thankful to Apollo Group to come forward and associate with Lions Club to bring Awareness programs on Diabetes.

    We need to strive for bring awareness programs on Diabetes and I thank LCI , IDF and other Diabetes Associations for providing materials online and help to bring awarness on Diabetes. From past many years in District 316F we are trying to motivate all the clubs to bring more awareness programs on Diabetes.

    Peace building through Religions, Sports & Arts

    Lions Clubs International District 306A1 and the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia(AMDA-International) in collaboration with the St. John Ambulance and The Sri
    Lanka Council of Religions for Peace recently organized a unique programme to build peace among the children belonging to different ethnic groups and religions in Sri Lanka.

    A large number of Sri Lankan students selected from different schools and fifteen High School students from Japan participated in this residential programme held at
    the National Youth Centre, Maharagama. The participants were engaged in a
    multitude of religious, sports and arts activities.

    They visited places of religious worship and were also engaged in sports activities
    such as Elle and Volleyball in addition to arts and cultural activities.

    The Japanese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nobuhito Hobo was the Chief Guest.

  3. After 3 months of Supplemental Nutrition Feeding project for malnourished children under our program in a poor community, we, members of Manila Amity Lions Club were gifted with a touching song number by the beneficiaries. This was during the closing ceremony of the program where we also awarded those who attained the biggest weight gain after the feeding period. So heartwarming. Lions not only changes lives, we touch hearts.
