Lions Local Advocacy Days

Wide view of the U.S. Capitol Building

As part of Lions Clubs International’s advocacy strategy, Lions around the world host Local Advocacy Day events focused on meeting with elected representatives to discuss issues they care about and create positive change in their communities.

Lions Day on Capitol Hill is an annual event held in Washington D.C., allowing Lions leaders to engage with Congressional representatives. Meetings are held with Congressional representatives, staffers and various partners whereby Lions leaders promote the profile of Lions Clubs International while drawing attention to the impact of Lions clubs in communities throughout the world.

Hill Day allows Lions leaders to meet with Congressional representatives, non-governmental organizations and foreign diplomats to discuss legislative and regulatory issues affecting nonprofit organizations and, also, promote volunteer service, youth programs, education and foreign assistance programs in impoverished communities throughout the world.
