LCIF volunteer leadership positions

Every leader within our organization embodies the spirit of an active Lion — a volunteer committed to shaping a better world through tangible acts of kindness. The individuals guiding our foundation hail from diverse backgrounds, each contributing their unique expertise and perspective. This diversity enhances the foundation's effectiveness, ensuring our mission is executed thoughtfully to positively impact the world. The following leadership positions play an important role in the success of the foundation, today and in the years to come.

LCIF Board of Trustees

Our board of trustees is responsible for oversight and decision-making within the foundation. A total of 22 trustees serve on the LCIF board, representing all constitutional areas. The board of trustees ensures LCIF’s financial solvency and organizational integrity. These leaders play a critical role in our grantmaking process by reviewing and evaluating each project before funding is awarded.

LCIF chairperson

Our chairperson serves a one-year term that involves international travel, meetings with partners and Lions leadership, as well as administrative oversight. The chairperson is LCIF’s ambassador throughout the world and ensures that the foundation remains a leader among international humanitarian volunteer organizations.

Constitutional area leader

As LCIF constitutional area leader, you represent and lead all foundation efforts in your constitutional area. Responsibilities include working with LCIF area leaders to implement LCIF fundraising strategies; educating Lions about the importance and impact of LCIF locally, regionally and around the world; tracking progress towards benchmarks and goals; and encouraging Lions to support LCIF in all aspects of fundraising throughout their constitutional area. LCIF constitutional area leader terms are usually three years, but term length and appointment may also be based on regional and situational needs.

Area leader

As LCIF area leader, you will serve as an ambassador for LCIF for your area (a combination of three to nine multiple districts and single districts). You will ensure that your team of LCIF multiple district coordinators (MDCs) and single district coordinators (SDCs) implement LCIF fundraising strategies; educate Lions about the importance and impact of LCIF locally, regionally and around the world; track progress towards benchmarks and goals; maintain regular communication with your team, and support the flow of information with LCIF staff and the volunteer structure; understand the challenges and successes of your team, and facilitate support; and encourage Lions to support LCIF in all aspects of fundraising across the multiple districts. You will be the guiding force directing goal achievement in your area, inspiring support through your own leadership and commitment.

Multiple district coordinator

As LCIF multiple district coordinator, you will serve as an ambassador for LCIF in your multiple district (MD). You will ensure that your team of district coordinators implement LCIF fundraising strategies; educate Lions about the importance and impact of LCIF locally, regionally and around the world; track progress towards benchmarks and goals; and encourage Lions to support LCIF in all aspects of fundraising across the MD. You will be the guiding force directing goal achievement in your MD, inspiring support through your own leadership and commitment.

District coordinator

As LCIF district coordinator, you will serve as an ambassador for LCIF in your district. You will ensure that your team of club coordinators implement LCIF fundraising strategies; introduce and integrate Lions with the importance and impact of LCIF locally, regionally and around the world; track progress towards benchmarks and goals; communicate relevant information to and from your team of club coordinators; and encourage Lions to support LCIF in all aspects of fundraising across the district. You will be the guiding force directing the success of fundraising efforts in your district, inspiring support through your own leadership and commitment.

Club coordinator

All clubs are asked to appoint a club LCIF coordinator, which is a one-year position. While serving in this role, you will be asked to educate fellow club members on the impact of LCIF grants and key initiatives of the foundation. As club LCIF coordinator, you will also be asked to encourage donations from both the club and individual members.
