We are there for Hurricane Dorian survivors

September 05, 2019

Dear Lions,

Disasters can devastate lives in an instant.

Hurricane Dorian, a Category 5 hurricane, struck the Bahamas this past weekend with 185 mph winds and torrential rain, tying the record as the strongest Atlantic hurricane to make landfall. The hurricane devastated the islands of Grand Bahama and Abaco. Thousands of people have lost their homes. More than 30 people have lost their lives and that number is expected to increase.

To assist with immediate relief efforts, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded a US$100,000 Major Catastrophe grant to local Lions to support the families who are struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian.

LCIF has been monitoring Hurricane Dorian's path as it continues along the east coast of the United States where flooding and high winds are expected to cause further damage.

You can help. Your generous donation to LCIF will help us respond to Hurricane Dorian and wherever we’re needed around the world.

I want to give

Together, we can rebuild lives when disaster strikes.
