Designed for Lions and Leos who are beginning their leadership journey, ELLI builds foundational skills and confidence for club-level roles. It is best suited for areas looking to develop emerging leaders and prepare them for future responsibilities within the club and beyond.

- ELLI is a three-day institute with a standard curriculum that ensures a consistent training experience worldwide.
- Participants gain practical leadership skills to support effective teamwork, communication and club success.
- The ELLI curriculum is provided upon approval of the grant application.

Designed for Lions with some leadership experience, RLLI strengthens and expands leadership skills for increased effectiveness at the club and district levels. It is best suited for areas looking to prepare leaders for more advanced roles.

- Multiple districts, single districts, and undistricted regions and zones are eligible to apply.
- Grant-funded RLLIs must follow a three-day format.
- Each institute includes four required core sessions, along with elective sessions selected by organizers to meet local needs.
- The RLLI curriculum is provided upon approval of the grant application.

Designed for Lions who will serve as trainers, FDI develops facilitation skills to deliver effective Lions learning programs. It is best suited for areas looking to build or strengthen a qualified faculty base.
Part of the Lions Train-the-Trainer pathway.
- Only multiple districts and single districts are eligible to apply for a local FDI.
- The institute includes a structured curriculum focused on foundational facilitation skills.
- Participants develop the skills needed to effectively deliver and support Lions training programs.
- The FDI curriculum is provided upon approval of the grant application.

Applications will be available May-October 31 annually.
Report and Verify
Prior to the institute, download the Institute Attendance and Consent Form and Institute Final Summary as part of the requirements to confirm the institute. The supporting documents must be provided with the reimbursement form and receipts to ensure institute verification.

Virtual RLLI Process
If an in-person institute is not a possibility, consider organizing a virtual RLLI. For additional guidelines and details on the virtual RLLI, please see the Virtual Regional Lions Leadership Institute (RLLI) Process document.
Leo Institute Grant
The Leo Institute Grant provides additional grant funds when Leos are participants at a local ELLI or RLLI. To be receive the Leo Institute Grant, local organizers must be approved for the Leadership Development Institute Grant. There is not a separate application.
Reimbursement
Reimbursements will be made payable to the applicable multiple district, single district or undistricted regions and zones. Reimbursement claims and supporting documents must be submitted within 30 days of the institute. Manage your reimbursement: submit a claim post-training!
