There are a variety of club type and membership options available to you so you can continue serving in a way that best meets your needs. Membership options
Leo-Lion
As a Leo-Lion, you’ll have exclusive benefits only available only to current and former Leos, including a charter or entrance fee waiver as well as exclusive training and networking opportunities.
Traditional Lion
This is the most common membership type. You will join 1.4 million members dedicated to serving their communities and expanding service in one of our eight global causes.
Student
Designed for students, this membership type allows you to charter or serve in any club type. You’ll also receive additional benefits, with members ages 30 and younger receiving a 50% discount on international dues and a charter or entrance fee waiver.
Young Adult
Created for those age 30 and younger, Young Adult membership includes a 50% discount on international dues and a charter or entrance fee waiver when joining a Leo-Lion club.
Club types
Leo-Lion
You can join or charter a Leo-Lion club, which requires 20 charter members consisting of at least 10 former Leos.
Traditional
The majority of Lions clubs are formed as traditional Lions clubs. Find a Lions club in your area or see how you can start a new Lions club.
Specialty
Specialty clubs are similar to traditional clubs, but are comprised of members who share a common interest, hobby or career — what is known as a specialty — that can help diversify their service.
Campus
Designed for students, campus clubs require at least five student charter members as part of the 20 minimum charter members and provide opportunities to serve, network and build your resume.
Get the benefits of Leo-Lion membership
Designed specifically for former Leos, the Leo-Lion Program is the best next step for you in your service journey. To be eligible, members must have been a Leo for at least a year and a day and be between the age of legal majority and 35 years old. There are many benefits exclusive to you as a Leo-Lion, including:
- Continued service with even more service opportunities, including access to Lions International grants
- Opportunity to mentor future Leos and share experience as a former Leo
- A Leo-Lion pin — make sure your shipping address is up to date in the Lion Portal
- Networking opportunities with Lions of all ages to understand the opportunities that come with being a Lion
- Years of Leo service credited to your Lion record
- The opportunity to serve under dual membership as both a Lion and a Leo
